    Good Weekend for bowling

Monday, February 4, 2008, 03:14 PM EST [General]

Well must say this was a pretty good weekend. Started off with City Tournament shot pretty well 237 235 225 in  singles.  It was a tale of two worlds during the tournament, just 4 lanes to my left were 2 birthday parties going on(kids were running up on the teams next to us during the tournament). I was just happy we weren't the ones bowling next to them.  About 5 pairs to my right was New Albany native Mike Wolf, yes PBA member Mike Wolf.  I didn't know he was there until I checked the brackets and I was beatin in the second round by Mr. Wolf 235 - 247.  After that good set of Singles I managed to forget how to bowl with a 178 - 138 - 198, my partner only beat me by 12 pins searies so I didn't feel so bad.

Then Sunday came and my son bowled his set of singles and Doubles for the Youth City. He had come off his best game of 199 and Series 499 just last week during the team events.  He started real slow 107 came back with a 164 and then blew up with a 233. During the middle of the third game he said to me, "The Giants are gonna win, because I'm bowling so good." I just laughed and hoped he was right.  Everyone he was bowling with all set high game scores that day so everyone had a great time.  BTW we were glad the Giants won this way the Boy's lost to the Super Bowl champs.

Anyone going to the Pro-am in Indy.  My son and I went last year and had a great time. Going again should be a fun, we have a group of bowlers from the Ft. Knox Ky area going.

I was down there this weekend too and I had a 690, 622, 653. The 690 was on lane one and two in the team event.
